Any EMT or Paramedic that works on a 1:1 Alternate Staffing IFT unit within the County of Los Angeles. This course was designed by the Los Angeles County EMS Agency. Any EMT or Paramedic working on a 1:1 unit within Los Angeles County is required to attend this training annually.
This is a Los Angeles County EMS Agency sponsored course that is required to be taught annually to any EMT or Paramedic working an approved 1:1 (EMT/Paramedic crew) IFT unit within Los Angeles County. Continuing Education Hours: This course provides 4.00 hours of EMS Continuing Education Hours (CEHs) for the initial classroom course; CEHs will be provided via Los Angeles County EMSA approved; CE provider number 19-0725. Healthcare Providers other than EMTs and Paramedics are encouraged to contact their regulatory organizations to confirm acceptance of these CEHs. CERTIFICATION
This course has been approved by the Los Angeles County EMS Agency and meets the annual training requirements for the Alternate Staffing program and a certificate of completion will be provided.

This purpose of this course is to prepare EMTs to assist a paramedic partner when assigned to an ALS unit, which is approved for 1:1 staffing. This staffing pattern may be used only for prearranged interfacility transportation. Additionally, this course is meant to ensure that transport team members approved for the trial alternate staffing program have a clear understanding of the duties and function of each team member.
