Trauma First Response (TFR)
This course is a one-day course that teaches the principles of Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) to non-EMS practitioners, including security and safety officers and outdoor adventure specialists.

The Trauma First Response course is a one-day continuing education course that teaches the principles of Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) to non-Emergency Medical Systems practitioners, including first responders, outdoor adventure specialists, police officers, firefighters, rescue personnel and safety officers. The course teaches core PHTLS content to those who haven’t had EMT or advanced prehospital training. The lectures and practical stations are designed for the type of care first responders can render while awaiting patient transport or when assisting paramedics and EMTs at a trauma scene.
Continuing Education Hours: This continuing education activity is approved by the National Association of EMTs, and offers 8.00 Continuing Education Hours (CEHs) for the initial classroom course. A renewal classroom course option is not available at this time.
CERTIFICATION
: The National Association of EMTs Trauma First Response (TFR) course completion card is valid for four years.
